Buying a tent from an online auction can be a great way to save money, but you need to be careful. You don’t want to buy a tent that has seen better days, or has rips and tears that only become apparent in the small hours of a cold , wet and windy night… However, there are many brand new or nearly new tents that are up for auction that can be a great bargain!

Tent Auction Buying Tips

• Make sure that there is a photo of the tent made up (if not brand new)
• Ask the vendor why they are selling
• Try and shop local if you want to check the tent over first
• Find out if all pegs, poles, panels and accessories are included
• Specifically ask about rips, tears, broken seams
• Confirm how much use the tent has had

Of course you also need to think about the normal online auction issues such as reliability and feedback level of the seller.

If you are careful and willing to sort through the details, and ask questions, you can end up with a bargain!
